The MICHELIN Guide arrived in Quebec in 2025, a milestone for Montreal’s dining scene. The 2026 selection, announced in May 2026, added new stars and new Bib Gourmand picks in the city. Here is the Montreal list and what it means for your next reservation.

One MICHELIN Star (Montreal, 2026)

  • Hoogan et Beaufort (new in 2026)
  • Sushi Nishinokaze (new in 2026)
  • Jérôme Ferrer – Europea
  • Mastard
  • Sabayon

A star means “high-quality cooking, worth a stop.” Michelin inspectors judge only what is on the plate: ingredients, technique, the chef’s personality, harmony of flavours and consistency.

Bib Gourmand (good food at a moderate price)

  • Limbo (new in 2026)
  • Annette bar à vin
  • Cadet
  • Casavant
  • Le Petit Alep
  • L’Express
  • Parapluie
  • Rôtisserie La Lune

The Bib Gourmand is often the best way to enjoy Michelin-quality cooking without a tasting-menu budget.

Newly recommended in 2026

Bar St-Denis, Helicoptère, Juliette Plaza, Kitano Shokudo, Oncle Lee Kăo and Renoir joined the list of recommended restaurants.

Tips for booking

  • Starred restaurants usually open reservations weeks in advance; set a reminder.
  • Ask about tasting menus versus à la carte, and about dietary restrictions when you book.
  • Lunch, where offered, can be a more affordable way to try a top kitchen.
  • Expect a deposit or cancellation policy for tasting menus.

The Michelin selection is updated every year, so always confirm the current list on the official MICHELIN Guide website. For more ideas, see our guide to the best restaurants in Montreal.
